The Mad Scientist Returns

I'm so SORRY that I pulled a rather long and unusual disappearing act over the last 4-5 weeks.

The Mad Scientist boarded a flying vessel and spent 4 weeks in China.

Today, that of the August 15th is my first day back on American soil.
(Oh, now it is the 16th.)

Mad Scientist had her hands full of adventures and Mandarin Language classes,
therefore, I am sad to say that I did not complete one book during my absents.

*Shakes Head In Shame*

However..........

I do have plenty of photos to delight your eyes to last for quite some time.
(Only 3,000+ for me to pick and choose from to share with you.)

Now to spoil you with a few delightful glances at today's beautiful China.

Day 1 & 2
Shanghai
View outside of my hotel room.  Shanghai, China
-Check into the hotel and freshen up a bit.
-The park was full of local people meditating, exercising & playing.
-Across the highway on the right and north two blocks was a subway.
Sorry I didn't try it, not sure if it was the same menu or not.  But interesting nonetheless.

Photos of daytime Shanghai from the 91st floor of the Shanghai World Financial Center
(tallest in skyscraper in Shanghai)
-We walked from our hotel (on the side with the smaller buildings) to a ferry to cross the river.
-We walked to the Skyscraper & up the elevator to a restaurant where our group relaxed with a few drinks.
-Looking at the second tallest building - Jinmao Tower & the smaller pink Pearl TV tower.

Apple's underground Flagship store & the Oriental Pearl Tower in the Pudong District.
-Afterwards we headed to more of a shopping district outside of the financial.

The first meal my friend & I ordered on our own @ a mall.
-Lunch was on our own.

I hope you enjoyed  a peak at my first two days in China.

The pictures are in order of which they happened.

  6. I'm so happy your back! I hope you had a fabulous time in China! I’m so jealous that you got to go! We actually adopted my little sister from China but my parents kept me here to be with my brother, I wish I could have gone. Hopefully some day in the future! I'd also love to learn Mandarin. It seems hard though, how was it? Anyway, I hope you had a great time. The pictures are beautiful and I can't wait to see more!
