Concoction of a Review:

Upon the closure of book one, Nefertiti's Heart, within 30 seconds MS had book two open and started. Honestly, waiting to jump into the next tome of inky goodness was not an option.

If you desired one word to explain book two compared to book one, DIFFERENT. Such a wonderful read that was just so much different from the first murder mystery. Around this historic artifact of Hatshepsut's Collar is a global conquest for information which kept MS guessing to see what comes around the steam carriage next.

My lovelies, this book has more of what was delightful from the first book. Loki, a sky pirate, was even more impossible & Miguel was fun to watch as a character. Nate caged in the tower of London and doing crunches with no shirt as he awaited his fate. More swooning all the way around. Ladies you have to love that. *grin*

Here is how MS pictures Cara & Nate:
Hatsheptsut's collar is the main artifact of book two. It was also listed in the rare book Cara managed to obtain in book one. This piece of jewelry is sitting around the neck of the queen. As queen she is very powerful add in the collar and her lust for power is so much more. A combination that turns out to be a thorn in Nate's side & the reason for his impending rope collar.

A seriously wonderful novel that meshes together steampunk elements, Egyptian mythology, & mystery. Blend those elements with some great characters and you will enjoy The Artifact Hunters series as much as the Mad Scientist has.

Eagerly awaiting book three, Nero's Fiddle, will test Mad Scientist & the art of patience.

Overall, MAD LOVED this book!!  Just as much as book one.

** Thanks to Candace's Book Promotions for the ebook. However, all Mad thoughts are presented in as right of mind a twisted brain can be inside of this Mad Scientist!**

Concoction of a Review:

My lovelies, this book is just so delightful. Amidst the horror of the crimes Mad Scientist took to the ol' streets of London with Cara.

Her father has had a rather curious death bringing Cara back into the clutch's of the upper crust society of London after being away for many years. Speculation of murder via an Egyptian asp has her wondering what happened, as well as, one of the inspectors. Soon she is off in search for her father's historic treasures to sell off bit by bit.

Cara is one of those heroines you just want to hug as  you cheer on her kick ass ways. She was shunned by the ton of the day making her an outcast and free all in the same. She had a childhood that will make you spill a tear but she is so strong and set that it is amusing to follow the advances of a rebel Viscount Nathaniel Lyons. Peeling away her layers all the while standing beside her as she takes on the rich with their tongue lashings.

Here is how MS pictures Cara (imagine short hair):

There is so much mystery afoot from the murders of daughters to Cara loosing Lyons goons by going out back doors of such a well described bookshop. How MS wanted to be there. *tries to sniff the old book smell*

Back to the mystery. Dear swoon worthy Lyons was a deep mystery, through the pages MS could not put her lacy finger down and peg him in an certain way. Shall we like the man or fall in love with him. *fans self*

One who loves books embraces differences with more fever. The point of view switches was just so well done. Switching was not too often that it gets weird but enough where you look forward to it. Grasping is just a settle way of doting on how engaging the mystery of the book was wrapped up with the tidbits the POV switch offered.

MS has had many good reads one right after another, however, Nefertiti's Heart has just earned the coveted "must reread soon" status!

The steampunk element for me was there in light touches. If you have not yet dabbled heavily within the genre this would be a great one to get your feet wet without feeling too overwhelmed.

Overall, MAD LOVED this book!!  Highly recommended in so many ways.
