Concoction of a Review:
If you desired one word to explain book two compared to book one, DIFFERENT. Such a wonderful read that was just so much different from the first murder mystery. Around this historic artifact of Hatshepsut's Collar is a global conquest for information which kept MS guessing to see what comes around the steam carriage next.
My lovelies, this book has more of what was delightful from the first book. Loki, a sky pirate, was even more impossible & Miguel was fun to watch as a character. Nate caged in the tower of London and doing crunches with no shirt as he awaited his fate. More swooning all the way around. Ladies you have to love that. *grin*
Here is how MS pictures Cara & Nate:Hatsheptsut's collar is the main artifact of book two. It was also listed in the rare book Cara managed to obtain in book one. This piece of jewelry is sitting around the neck of the queen. As queen she is very powerful add in the collar and her lust for power is so much more. A combination that turns out to be a thorn in Nate's side & the reason for his impending rope collar.
A seriously wonderful novel that meshes together steampunk elements, Egyptian mythology, & mystery. Blend those elements with some great characters and you will enjoy The Artifact Hunters series as much as the Mad Scientist has.
Eagerly awaiting book three, Nero's Fiddle, will test Mad Scientist & the art of patience.
Overall, MAD LOVED this book!! Just as much as book one.
