Contact Mad Scientist & Policies

Good Day to my lovely followers!

As you know I am rather new to the blog-o-sphere of this century.  With that being said this site is a work in progress.   Blog growth, learning about expectations, and watching out for what pleases you the most.

I tried my hand at creating a letter for my Contact Policies page.

Could you be so kind as to provide me with some feedback?  Do you like what I had to say, am I missing important information, is anything unclear, or anything else that you feel needs to be said?

I thank you most graciously in advance.

Mad Scientist

There will be an abundance of blushing from the Mad Scientist if you would like me to read and create a review for you.  The concoction of a review is of my own making, however, I feel a need to state that all reviews are honest theories and thoughts from my own manner.

Mad Scientist can be reached at all hours of the day including that of the past, present, & future at:

Futuristic contraptions are lovely.  The Mad Scientist is a PROUD owner of Nook.  It makes a long day of tinkering worth the moments of relaxing when I do not feel guilty about loss of trees for my obsession.  Yes, Obsession.

eBOOKS is my preference.  However, I do understand that ARC's are yet to be fully beautified & I will be most honored to examine the inky goodness in the early stages.
Genres of my own personal interest would include:
  • Steampunk
  • Paranormal Romance
  • Young Adult
  • Realistic Fiction
  • Futuristic Fiction
  • Erotica
  • Dark Fantasy - including Gothic themed
  • Contemporary Romance
  • Science Fiction
  • Neo Victorian
  • Asian
  • Native American
  • Historical Romance

Books sent me for review will be placed at the top of the reading pile.  If there is a deadline for my work please let me know when the review is needed by.

I am also willing to do author interviews, contest/swag giveaways, and book tours.

Book Reviews include: Book name, author name, publisher, pages, ratings, book art rating, some quotes, & a honest review.

**My book reviews are also posted on Smashwords, Amazon, Barnes & Noble, as well as GoodReads & Shelfari.**

Thank you for your interest & Have a pleasant day,

  1. I like how you included the past, present, & future aspect. Because all proper scientist have access to a time machine!

    Love it!

    Black Disaster Fairy

  2. This works for me! It draws me in and wants to give you a book to read, and makes me interested to read your reviews! Nice!

  3. I think this is fantastic!! Very original!! I can't think of anything I would add!

  4. Thank you for your words of encouragement :)

    I do enjoy them so!

    Mad Scientist

  5. Brilliant inventive and in keeping with such an imaginative and resourceful scientist that you are.

  6. Hey not everyone needs bookmarks. Cloth works just as well as long as you know where you are in the story. :) I sometimes use just random papers laying around.

As far as the contact stuff goes. sounds very pro-fessional. I would def feel like your words mean something. I love how you're atomsphere is different. Keep up the Ah-mazing job!

  7. It sounds splendid! And well, the way that you wrote it is ever so lovely--as is expected. :)

  8. Looks good to me. I like how you personalized it instead of just stating a basic review policy.

  9. Looks pretty good. I really like that you have a clear list of genres, and that you let them know you have a Nook and like ebooks (speaking of, do you know about Netgalley? Get on that, if you don't.)
The only thing I would suggest is making sure that everything is as simple and concise as possible. From knowing some, I know authors and publicists are busy, and they want their info quickly.

  10. I think it sounds great! Your new yet, but once you have some stats (google analytics is the most precise) then I would add them for sure! They really help! And I would update the stats every two months or so.
I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but I know some authors that do ebooks like you to review on amazon so those with kindles see it. So in my review policy I state I review on amazon. It's actually one of the first places I post my reviews. It's definitely up to you though, and perhaps it doesn't make any difference.
I love how you worded everything! It sounds fantastic!

  11. It sounds great! The only issue I've ever had with reviews is the expectation that I would not publish a negative review. I had to change my policy to reflect that - but you've already got it covered. Plus, I love your wording - perfect for this blog!

  12. I think it sounds great! And I wanted to stop by to thank you for recommending that I read Soulless by Gail Carriger, I just finished it and absolutely loved it! Review is posted here

  13. Love this blog! Can't wait to see more.

  14. Overall I quite like it, but there's one additional bit of info you may want to add: whether or not you review self-published books. Some blogs do, some don't. If you say you do, you will likely get a lot of submissions of varying quality. If you don't say anything, that may cut down on the numbers... so maybe you're better off not saying.

In tandem, you may want to add a disclaimer that you don't guarantee to accept for review every book you're asked about.

    Just a thought :)

  15. Very nice, very creative. I also include a line that says I don't guarantee a review for every book I receive and that I will try and pass along any that I can't or don't want to review to someone who can.
