Pleasant Hopping to Everyone!
Those of you who grown to know the Mad Scientist over the last two months may have noticed that I am constantly creating and tinkering. This blog is an amazing laboratory for me, I am still sain for the most part. Really I think I have not lost more of my sanity since I started Steampunkery & Book Reviews. Actually, I think I may have grasped and harnessed more creativity.
The other day I was staring at Noah my Nook and this blog, the stand still cogs and gears began to dream turn. His chin is chiseled perfectly. My Nook is full of Independant authors, which lead me to wonder how I can help make it know that the Mad Scientist is a supporter of their books. A way others can be able to express their support as well.
I really do praise their stubbornness and guts to take it upon themselves to self publish either because big publisher said no to their writing or because it is a dream to be an author. It takes a strong person to publish their words without months of a fine tooth comb through editing to have it be placed in our hands, as the critic. Can you imagine the stress knotted up instead as they await their first reviews?
This Scientist admires their strength to do this. In telling Noah this, he scratched that chin of his, shifted his shoulders and said, "Love, I think you are onto something worth looking into." After a few moments his face slide into this grin. A Noah grin. I could tell he came up with something brilliant. Highly doubtful... More or less just thinking he did would bring him into a better mood. *Whispers* You know how men are! Honestly, they moop around way too often when they don't get their way.
This time I cannot deny that he did create something just wonderful. The Indie Authors Rock 2 badge that is located at the top was created by my very unIgor like assistant. It is bloody brilliant!! *Whispers* although it is beautiful... men don't grasp the concept of properly matching colors together to create beauty for the eyes. I'll have to work on that with him because it simply just clashes with my color scheme. *sigh*
The first post the Mad Scientist used the badge on was yesterday for Lori Brighton's The Ghost Hunter, which was a simply scrumptious book. Check out the review and badge if you would like.
Please do grab Noah's masterpiece because scrumptious books by Independent Authors are just waiting to be devoured by us. Grab the badge, paste it on your side bar, create a post saying you support Indie authors and spread the word, place the badge proudly on your Indie review.
A Indie Author page will be created where your reviews with the badge can be linked up in one spot for authors, publishers, and other bloggers to view.
***Just a note: Starting Saturday there will be a week of Beautiful Creatures and Beautiful Darkness Feature going on here at Steampunkery & Book Reviews. There is going to be a Mr Linky for you to add your reviews of these YA books and a post where you can vote for which in the series was better. Plus... A giveaway to boot!***
Today, the 10th is the last day to sign up for
Soulless and Changeless Giveaway.

Noah is indeed quite a wise one. ^__^ You're right, indie authors should absolutely be applauded for their bravery and initiative. Sadly I have not read work from very many (yet!!!), but will follow your recommendations closely for some gems. ^__^

ReplyDeleteIt's a very interesting take on a controversial subject. As a prospective author, it's always refreshing to hear that all options are sometimes applauded, and not just the one.
