Knicker Teaser
As a Mad Scientist...
it is in the job description to light up some beakers with mysterious
glowing liquid and create. Steam is rising. Gears are laying about. Trousers are stained with oil and goo. Ah, yes here is a masterpiece. Today I am revamping the Tuesday Teaser meme
hosted by Lady MizB @ Should Be Reading. Knicker
Teaser is the twisted creation. I will provide you
with Steampunkery Knicker Teasers and Literary Samplings
as well.
The Knicker Teaser is going to be a a tad different. I have a new accomplice in my Steampunkery & Book Review realm. He maybe new but I think we know just who wears the trousers at this blog.
Mad Scientist and Noah the Victorian Punk do plan on teasing you a great deal. Two times the literary goodness to temp you. Oh my, that does sound delicious!!
Mad Scientist:
"Everyday the heat gets worse and worse. It creeps through the streets of Portland, festers in the dumpsters, makes the city smell like a giant armpit."
Softcover ARC page 178
Noah the Victorian Punk:
"I still remember the day my father took me to The Cemetary of Forgotten Books for the first time. It was the early summer of 1945, and we walked through the streets of a Barcelona trapped beneath ashen skies as dawn poured over Rambla de Santa Monica in a wreath of liquid copper."
Paperback page 03

Great teasers!! Nice to meet you, noah the victorian punk :)
ReplyDeleteGreat teasers. I think I'm the only person who didn't really care for The Shadow of the Wind, though.
ReplyDeletehahaha I love both the teasers, and I've never heard of The Shadow of the Wind :)
ReplyDeleteLoved the teasers. You have a very fun blog. Thanks for stopping by mine earlier. Sorry that I had poor manners and didn't take my stroll until a little later in the day.

Wonderful teasers! I have yet to read Delirium, but I loved Shadow of the Wind! Zafon is a very talented man. Did you know he composed a soundtrack to go with the book as well?
ReplyDeleteI loved Delirium, I hope you're enjoying it as well! I just finished and I feel like I could read it all over again:) Can't wait for your full review!
ReplyDeleteTerrific teasers. I love Delirium, and Shadow of the Wind is a new title for me. Will have to check it out.

ReplyDeleteI havent read either of these books. I hope that you are enjoying them Check out My Teaser for Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteLove it, love the teasers, love the whole tone here at your blog--so steamy and gothic.
ReplyDeleteThanks for wandering by earlier. Do drop in any time for a cuppa when the mad science gets wearisome.
Delirium is just simply scrumptious... I would tell you more but I would not be such a trill when the review hits the blog. Coming very soon!
ReplyDeleteI have also never heard of Noah's choice but the quote makes me think, finally a Igor worth keeping around. *winks*
Mad Scientist
I liked The Shadow of the Wind. I think the storyline and writing were the key sellers for me. However, Zafron's other novel, the prequel, The Angel's Game I didn't feel lived up to this one. It still contained excellent writing, but I thought the plot carried into an odd direction. It was almost more than just a mystery, it was a bit on the paranormal side. To me it seemed not to fit in with The Shadow of the Wind.
